About Me
Hi! I’m Keren, friends and family also call me Kery. My twin brother Urik and I were born in 2001 in Ukraine in a Jewish family. When I was a kid I tried every sport you can imagine: figure skating, swimming, karate, ice hockey, dancing, chess, tennis, and more. When I was 11 I started learning German. My German was at a very high level, I’ve been to three summer schools in Germany and Austria, and once lived in a German family. I planned to move to Germany when I grow up. But in 2015 we went on a family trip to the US, and I liked the country so much that I wanted to move there. So in 2016 when I was 15 I flew to the US to study in a Jewish boarding school called American Hebrew Academy. Flying to the US was the turning point of my life and since then my life was divided to before and after. The school helped me understand what are the things that I like to do, what I want to do in my future, taught me humanistic values of the liberal world, and of course improved my English. In 2018 I left America and got accepted to IDC Herzliya, a university in Israel, and started studying communications. But shortly I understood that what I’m studying is far from what I want to do in the future, but I wasn’t sure what I do want to study, so I made aliyah, finished the 2nd year of college, and in September 2020 got drafted to IDF. I served in the International Cooperation Unit and worked with foreign attaches. I enjoyed my service and it also gave me two extra years to think about the future, and I understood that I want to be a film director. In September 2022 I finished the army service and went to study film and television at Tel Aviv University. Now I’m a third year film student, and hope that in a couple of years you’ll see my movies on the big screen.
